City Museum
A great museum for the kids. It is filled with animals (some you can pet), caves for the kids to climb in, free crafts, and slides. It will cost you a small fee to get in but it is worth it when the kids are having a good time so check it out.
The Butterfly House
Extremely neat place to visit and see some of the most beautiful butterflies flying all around you as you walk through a manmade natural habitat made just for them. In addition there’s a really old carousel that has been rebuilt that you have to let the kids take a ride on.
Eckerts Farm
Really cool place to take the kids and pick your own fruit. Check out their website for a list of what’s in season so you can make plans to go. Make sure and grab a bite at the country restaurant while you’re there.
Their website has a schedule showing when the fruits are ripe for picking.

Grant’s Farm
At Grant’s Farm, children can see and pet many different types of animals. You can walk around the park or catch the train. Grant’s Farm is also home to the famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses the world has grown to love.
Transportation Museum
I took my kindergarteners to the Transportation Museum last year. They loved it! There were cars that the kids could look at, trains that they could climb aboard and play conductor, planes they could climb in, boats they could explore, and much more. They also have a place called Creation Station. It’s a fun place [...]
Troy City Park
The city park here in Troy, MO is wonderful. There are many different types of playground equipment for the children to enjoy. There is a covered picnic area, skateboard ramps, and a large pond. If you bring a fishing pole, you just might catch a fish. Not interested in fishing? Bring bread and feed the [...]
Pumpkins and Pines
I am an educator and our first graders make this trip every year. They go and pick apples and other goodies in the fall.
Eagle Fork Farm
Eagle Fork is a farm that allows parents and their children to pick pumpkins, walk through giant cornfield mazes, take relaxing hay rides, and more.
This is a great place for school field trips and for families!
Magic House
The Magic House is one of the premier kids spots in St. Louis. It’s the city’s Children’s Museum. Has tons of activities and exhibits like the very cool electrostatic ball that makes your hair stand on end. It can get crowded…it’s that popular!
Lynn Meadows Discovery Center
Children’s museum in Gulfport, MS. Will entertain kids for hours. Lots of hands on activities inside. There is also plenty of entertainment for the kids outside including a treehouse nestled among the live oaks (although calling it a treehouse does not do it justice). We visited in Spring 2005 and my kids have been asking [...]
