Tuesday, July 15th, 2008Local favorite in Wood River, IL. Old fashioned drive in - waitress actually comes out to your car (no intercoms here). They serve really great hamburgers and fries. They are best known (and loved) for their homemade rootbeer. They bring it to you in a frosty glass mug. Great on a really hot St Louis summer day (only 20 minute drive from downtown St Louis). You can order a gallon of the rootbeer to go and make the VERY best rootbeer floats at home for the whole family for less than $10 (I recommend using Breyers vanilla ice cream).
